“Europa 2023 (PEACE – the highest value of humanity)” (4/2023)

08/05/2023

In 2023, PostEurop chooses Peace as its theme, thus showing its solidarity with Ukraine but also with other countries currently in the darkness of war. The series "EUROPA 2023 - PEACE the greatest value of humanity" is released simultaneously, on 9 May 2023, in all PostEurop member countries, with a common design, that of Luxembourg, which won the first special prize in the competition organized by PostEurop. It is inspired by the Celtic symbol of knotted friendship, a visual metaphor for a world where people of every nation embrace each other's culture. The Greek version is completed with ELTA's candidate design in the competition, presenting the olive tree as a symbol of peace, euphoria, victory and honor to compose the universal symbol, the Dove, as the main theme of the stamp.
