The first album includes the first thematic section, which covers the Olympic Games and their birthplace, via three thematic issues:

• the “Crypte” and the Events
• the archaic and at the same time contemporary issue of the “Victors”, in all life areas and
• the issue of Olympic Symbols of Athens 2004 and “links” between the ancient Games and the Athens 2004 Olympics.
   

The second edition underlines the cultural dimension of the 2004 Olympic Games, sending to the whole world the message of peace, cooperation and solidarity of peoples, messages that derive from the Olympic ideal. Prominent figures of Greek gymnastics, leading Greek athletes, the first Olympic facilities, the mascots of the 2004 Olympic Games, Olympic sports and symbols of Olympism, entered with delicate art on the small paper surface of the stamps, harmoniously combining philately with the sports tradition of Greece.
