Special Commemorative Postmark to mark sixty years of uninterrupted operation of the Army Aviation Training School
SPECIAL CIRCULAR
1. We inform you that Hellenic Post has created a Special Commemorative Postmark to mark sixty years of uninterrupted operation of the Army Aviation Training School on Sunday, 7th February 2021.
2. In order to comply with the measures to protect public health, the commemorative postmark will not be available at any post offices. Anyone wishing to have an item stamped with the postmark should post it to the Philatelic Service, 100 Aiolou St (second floor), 10188 Athens, Greece, no later than 8th March 2021. Please note that the postmark stamped by the post office from which the item is sent will indicate the date of posting. The name and full address of the sender must be included so that the item can be sent back to them.
3. Stamps to the value of at least €0.90 must be affixed to each item to be postmarked. Any items to be posted must bear the appropriate stamp(s) for domestic or international mail or special delivery service, as the case may be.
4. MAXIMUM cards (i.e. illustrated postcards to which stamps relevant or similar to the illustration are affixed) are not covered by the above postmarking process.
5. In this case, because the stamp corresponding to the illustration on the postcard may be less than €0.90, it is permitted for it to be affixed and postmarked on the illustrated side of the postcard, as long as the difference is made up by a stamp/stamps affixed to the reverse, which will be stamped with the same commemorative postmark.
6. Under Decision 24/8906/011.3/29.11.99 of the Hellenic Post Board, the commemorative postmark may be stamped on the envelope without touching the stamps if they have a total value of at least €0.90 and are arranged in a square without any gaps between them, provided they are cancelled in the middle, and that the request for this to be done is made when the postmarking takes place and not afterwards.
7. Furthermore, under Special Circular 13/35/244.3/11.02.99, post offices are requested to mark items arriving for collectors on the back, provided that they bear the commemorative postmark and the full address of the sender and the addressee.
