The first and most important urban refugee settlements of the country, where the thousands uprooted from Smyrna found shelter, were created in Vyronas, Kaisariani, Nea Ionia and Kokinia. On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Asia Minor Catastrophe, the Hellenic Post releases 4 commemorative stamps featuring the first refugee settlements in Greece, where the Asia Minors built their new lives.

The scene of the murder of Orpheus by the Maenads was chosen by the Hellenic Post Office to be presented in this year's EUROPA 2022 edition under the theme "Stories and Myths". Orpheus was one of the most important figures in Greek mythology. At the end of his life he despised the worship of the gods angering the god Dionysus who ordered the Maenads to kill him.
